Large Paver Patio Built Under a Walk-Out Deck

A lot of backyards go to waste. The space is there, but without a solid surface, it just becomes a muddy mess that nobody wants to deal with. That's exactly the kind of problem we built this patio to solve.

This was a large under-deck patio install using a beautiful large-format paver in a grey tone with a textured, stone-like finish. The pattern layout keeps everything looking clean and intentional - no random cuts, no awkward edges. The pavers run the full width of the covered space, giving the homeowner a genuinely usable outdoor area right off the back of the house.

What makes a job like this work long-term is what you don't see - the base prep underneath. Proper grading, compacted base material, and tight joints are what separate a patio that holds up for decades from one that shifts and settles after the first winter. We take that stuff seriously on every install.

We also seeded the surrounding soil along the patio edge, so the yard ties back into the hardscape cleanly once the grass fills in. That's the softscape side of things working alongside the hardscape - it matters for the finished look, and it matters for drainage too.
